Current projects
Our goal is to become the globally recognised mark of freshness. Currently, we are working on two projects introducing and deploying Bump Tag to consumer products to reduce unnecessary waste of meat, seafood and other packed perishable foods.
Bump Tag usability
This 12-month project allows us to fund a rigorous consumer testing programme to optimise the usability and uptake of our Bump Tag, aimed at meat, fish and other chilled foods. These are food categories with the highest carbon footprints and highest ROIs for our customers. With the potential to cut avoidable waste by 22-29%.

Seafood
Following a successful feasibility study, we are working to develop and scale our Bump technology for seafood in a follow-on R&D project. Previously we found that Bump Tag can extend the shelf life of three top seafood categories in the UK, salmon, prawns and cod, by up to 6 days. It could cut 31% of seafood waste in the UK, saving 9,000 tonnes of edible seafood.

Juice & Smoothies
We are revolutionising the safe consumption of drinks by adding the Bump Cap to bottles, demonstrating longer shelf life and seamlessly integrating into filing and packaging processes.
Partners: AMC Group, United Caps
Funded by: EIT Food, Co-funded by the European Union
Let’s work on a project together!
Our smart technology can be scaled to any perishable items. We could help consumers, retailers and producers reduce unnecessary waste across many industries.
COVID-19 vaccines storage
We conducted some research on a new Bump indicator to help the monitoring and storing COVID-19 vaccines in order to keep these doses effective and safe in developing countries prone to power outages.
